Pick the one that feels like you

Strawberry cat, cherry, panda, orange, tap-tap or fruit pets. You choose the first time you open it, and you can switch whenever you like.

Strawberry cat

Keep scrolling and the designs change by themselves.

Write down whatever's on your mind

Just start typing. It saves as you go, and when a page fills up, the next one is already waiting.

Or turn it into a checklist

One tap switches a note into a to-do list. Tick things off and watch the count go up. Switch it back any time and nothing is lost.

Find anything again in a second

Search every note at once. Pick a result and you land right on it, whichever note it's in.

Then tuck it away

Click anywhere else and it slides back to the edge, where it waits until you need it. Press Ctrl + Alt + N to call it back from anywhere.

Setting it up on a Mac

  1. Download and open it

Click the download button above. When it finishes, double-click Sticky-Dock-mac.dmg in your Downloads folder. A window opens with an app called Sticky Dock.

  2. Drag it into Applications

In that window, drag Sticky Dock onto the Applications folder shortcut.

  3. Allow it to open (one time only)

Sticky Dock isn't from the App Store, so macOS blocks it at first. Open Terminal (press Cmd + Space, type Terminal, press Enter), paste this line and press Enter:

    xattr -cr "/Applications/Sticky Dock.app"

Nothing appears when it works. That's normal. On an Apple Silicon Mac, macOS may also offer to install Rosetta the first time. Say yes.

  4. Open Sticky Dock

Open it from Applications. Pick the design you like, then start writing. It lives on the edge of your screen and in the menu bar at the top.

Good to know

How do I open it once it's running?

Click the tab on the edge of your screen, or press Ctrl + Alt + N from anywhere. You can change that shortcut in settings (the little gear on the note).

Where are my notes stored?

Only on your computer. Sticky Dock never sends anything over the internet. In settings, open data folder shows you where they are, and export all notes saves them as a text file.

Can I move the note around?

Yes. Grab the top bar next to the title and drag it anywhere. Drag the bottom-right corner to make it bigger or smaller.

Why does my computer warn me before opening it?

Mac and Windows show a warning for any app that hasn't paid for a company signing certificate. The setup steps above show you how to get past it once.

How do I remove it?
  • Mac: quit Sticky Dock from the menu bar icon, then drag it from Applications to the Bin.
  • Windows: open Settings, then Apps, find Sticky Dock and choose Uninstall.

Your notes stay in the data folder until you delete that too.
